btw...teh t-rex killed me in one hit! -_-
Ask Gemz...he was actually playing that earlier I think. lol
Buy Libra!!! It shows you monster stats and level. That T-Rex is level 30 + any wolves he eats = +5

Just go the the Westernsand... I just completed the the game including the hardest "optional" boss Yiazamat who has 50 million HP... it took me 8 hours to do the fight.
The battle system is easy. Just read the manual.
It combines real time fighting with the old rpg fighting system.

lawl..it took me so long to find that stupid tomato thing. '-_-
...i hate using walkthroughs; think it makes too easy but right now im kinda lost and i dont want to miss anything. it would really suck if i needed to redo everything.
*screams really loud*
You havent even touched the licenses have you?
cheers, and good luck.
Btw, money is actualy hard to get. Dont waste it. Buy p downs and pots!
After the runin though rescusing bosche get a healthly supply of items that reservse status effects

not really gemz. dont really understand it. this game seems pretty complicated. i dunno...i guess ill figure it out after playing it. right now im suppose to use the save crystal to teleport somewhere. only like 1 hr into the game or so.
I good trick to get money is to chain monsters... if you can pull off a chain of 100 of the same type of monster they will be droping much more loot.. Also the license system is easier than the sphere grid :o...and gambits once you figure them out there really is nothing to them..
*rubs magic lamp*
jeany my first wish is...teach my teh ways of teh FF12!...in other words, what should i know and how do i go about doing it?
I HATE WALKTHROUGHS and really try hard not to use them so please dont recommend that i use one! =P
Don't use a walkthrough, use the game manual. lol
ok i need help. i checked a walkthrough(no im not using it to play) so i knew about any secret weapons and such. it says i SHOULDNT open certain treasure chests because it if i do i CANT get a weapon called: "Strongest Halberd". what is it and is this true?
right now i am in a sewer trying to get into the palace i believe.
Don't read the a wlakthorugh. That ruins the whole point to playing a rpg.
LOL sideo!
anyway, Balthier rulz!
...he just joined my party with the chick! woot woot!
yeah there are a few chests you can't open but by the time I found out I had already opened some so I couldn't get the zodiac spear.
what is the zodiac spear? is it worth getting? if so, should i start over?
btw...they say there are chests in certain places, but i dont seem to find them. '-_-
Im sure i opened a few by now.
Erm, i suggest you get someone with magic/bow in your party or that bird will kick your ass.
Trust me, i had to fight him 3 times because all my guys are melee... And still are. I havent learned my lesson. Im actualy tryin to get the hp 500 sphere and putting ash though magic tree.

You'll see by the time you reach about level 70 you have the whole augment and magic board on every character...
gemz...what bird are you talking about? i dont think you and i are on the same page. '-_-
...i dont have ashe in my party. right now im in the stage where balthier and that chick wanted some treasure i(vaan) stole and we ended up crashing(some motorcycle that flies) and now we are in the sewer. just learned the gambits.

*sigh*
i opened a treasure i wasnt suppose to open and saved. looks like i cant get this powerful weapon. =[
He was just saying that later on some monsters fly and you need to kill them entirely using ranged attacked. So he is saying you need to have people equiped to do ranged damage.
ok got it!
...anyway, right now i am in a city in the sky. havent done anything yet. just got a few questions...
what should i use my points for in relevance to the licenses? ex: should i make Vaan a magic-type or warrior-type, etc. im not sure who should do what and what to research. '-_-
this is definately the most confusing FF game. why cant they just use junctions!
because they are expermiting.
Id suggest u give everyone cure... atleast. And use gambits for it. It helps alot. Also, you will lvl alot in that mine.
Licenses, get enough to wear the type of armor and weapons ur using and put the rest in other stuff. Like battle lore and potion lore. +100 hp is helpfull. Have soemoen go though magic and pick up shell and protect.
Everything is nice, just keep killin licoln log and sellin it.

get 3 quickenings on all 6 characters asap it makes the game easymode til the final bosses
ok and to get a better grasp of what quickenings do, its basically "limit break" or "overdrive"?
...i saw that i could get one but it says that only one character can use a specific quickening. i dont know which ones are good and which ones certain characters should have.
All the quickeneings are roughly the same for each individual character.
For example... Vaan's first quickening is called Red Spiral and no matter what spot he goes to on the license board that has a quickening on it they will all say Red Spiral until he learns it.
Same goes for the other characters they have their own specific quickenings but it doesnt matter which spot you learn it from really.

i see!...so there is no point for the game to say "only 1 character can learn..."!!!
either way, yeah Vaan just learned Red Spiral. dont really understand how to use it though.
btw...i just came out of the "something" mines in that sky city.
quickenings: quite easy. the best feature of them is the fact they multiply your base mp.
for exemple, you have 62 mp without quickenings. learn one you get 124, learn 2 you get 186 (not TOO sure about that last one) etc.
dont use them too much as they drain you WHOLE mp once used. and for most battles, buffs like protect and shell are much better than quickenings. (remember, getting hit for 0 is more usefull than hitting for 9999)
how to use them:
when you use the first one you have 4 seconds to press r2 and get a mist charge on a character, once you see mist charge, stop pressing r2 and press the button next to the character's name and you will be able to chain quickenings.
in turn chain quickenings do more damage
-------------------------------------------------
For the license part, i suggest you start off by spending most of you license points (NOT ALL OF THEM) on the upper license grid (the one with technicks) and going to the lower left part. they have "hp +100" and "strength up" things which are usefull... very usefull. but also dont forget to create a magician for healing and buffs. or you're screwed. potions are good, but not enough to not do a caster
also continue leveling vaan as i think he has one of the highest strength/vitality stats
pretty much summs up what i know of the game for now

Well quickenings are very powerful if you are good at using them and are great on boss fights. You can pretty much 1 shot every boss til the last 2 ones if you use them well. If you have 6 people with 3 quickenings you can do 4 chains. and if you are good you can trigger ark blast at least half of the time. so the bosses just go down real fast and easy. so you can kill the bosses before they even touch you!
sure you can jeany, but truly, i for one prefer tokeep my MP. so if the quickenings dont work out fine, im not close to completely screwed :P
ethers :)
yeah you can buy ethers or use charge since it's free...And use consumables instead of magic healing...
charge is great, especially once you get "Self MP < 20%: Charge" but until then it's quite a pain...
Quickenings are nice, even later into the game they can be useful for bosses that spam monsters at the beginning of the fight, since you can do an area of effect attack and wipe them all out without too much effort.
Summonings are a waste, guys like Zodiark die in once hit by the the time you can get him. In fact the only time I ever used a summoning for a boss fight was against the Ring Wyrm (I used Belias) because his fire breath healed him.
Other than that, one nice tip is that the "Ally=Any: 'buff'" gambit won't try to recast a buff if the ally already has it (although there are expections to this, especially during later hunts where you get an ally who's immune to "Bubble") and the reverse is true with the dispel spell too (although it auto-dispels slow for some reason)
Oh yeah and don't be afraid to spam potions, they're easy to get and really helpful at the start of the game if you need them.

just wanna know if im doing good.
i have about 700 gils and no elders(aeons). i am in the fight with Judge Ghis.
curaja fully heals you (or REALLY DARN CLOSE) x-potions dont
ethers are a good way of countering the loss of mp and even if you do use an ether, time you use an ether + time to recast "buff" is too long for me.
i never said quickenings are useless.
i plainly said their overated. you need to be lucky not "use them right" there are no strategies on how to get mist charges more often, apart maybe from raising the luck stat

LMFAO! i got my ass kicked by Judge Ghis twice. then i remembered i had experience points for my licenses and i unlocked Ashes quickening. I went into the fight and used Vaan's quickening and kept going back and forth with Ashe and I killed him with 1 hit.LOL! i didnt get touched.haha!=P
point? quickenings are GREAT!LOL!
getting mist charges is pure luck but using them correctly isn't. you need to know how tu shuffle out of and attack you don't want to use and be quick at it...Like I said I average about 10 hits every quickening chains sometimes higher somtimes lower. combine that times 4 and it does alot of damage... and even if you miss 1 chain you have 3 others to save you. like I said I just totally owned everyboss with them until the final 2 encounters and in most of the fights I didn't need to heal because I wasn't delt any damage.
arg...
Statues after mount ob(something another)
3 statues, which way do they face on the map.
As in.
First statue, east, second, north, third west.
?
Is that correct?

btw...espers are worthless right? does it matter who has it?
ok right now i am in a sandsea. not the 1st one but the 2nd one, where you fight a giant turtle. i heard there is an esper(aeon) around. where is it?
will the gameplay automatically lead me to it or is it a side quest?
they need to face towards the center.

giving an update!...just got out of the forest place where the village for those tree women are. forgot their name.LOL.

You dont get another esper until after mount ortian or something like that.

yeah there's an esper in there, he's pretty tough, just because of all of those skeleton adds... t he trick is to kill as many of them as you can before you start fighting the boss, and set your gambits to attack the monsters with the lowest HP
Ok for those of you who are further along, how on earth do you beat Gilgamesh's second form? I've tried killing the dog first, blinding it, etc., but even with that whenever Gilgamesh swings at me I just die, especially when bubble is down. I tried using Decoy and Reverse, but Reverse lasts about 5 seconds before it wears off, and then it's lights out. Has anyone killed him? I'm currently level 41, so maybe I'm just too low of a level for it :(

ehh...im just too weak to beat em. my highest leveled guy is now Basch at 23 with Vaan and Balthier at 22. The chicks are all at 16.
...i just got my ass kicked fighting the "Edler Dragon". The thing used like "Bad Breathe"(FF8/FF10) and casted silence, poison, sleep, etc.
then i decided to go the other way and i made it to a new section(forgot the name) and got killed by these stupid red headed little people.LOL!
wow...i totally forgot i had this game.LOL. i stopped playing it. must..go..back! =P
im at the final mission :)
