The Earth will have two moons. 8 replies
Copy of an email a co-worker sent me:
The Earth will have 2 moons! This might be worth staying up to see! This might bring some real romance into our "old" lives! On August 27, 2007, two Moons will rise in the midnight sky, and the whole World will be waiting for this once-in-many-a-lifetime spectacular event. Starting in August, the planet Mars will be the brightest object in the night sky. It will look as large as a full Moon to the naked eye. This will culminate on August 27th, when Mars comes within 34.65 million miles of Earth. So, be sure to watch the sky on August 27th from midnight to 12:30 AM. It will look like the Earth has two Moons. The next time Mars comes this much close will be in the year 2287. Share this with everyone you know as no one living now will ever see it again

*btw its a hoax*
lol
I object to the punctuation used.
A moon is a natural satellite orbiting a planet.
The Moon is the moon orbiting our planet.
Therefore the message's author should decide if they're talking about 2 moons being visible or two Moons being visible. The latter would imply that the Moon is optically manipulated to appear as two, while the former would imply another moon was suddenly present. Clearly both are wrong if one is referring to Mars as a "moon." Fail.

They could have at least semi-proper grammar.

My aunt told me about this yesterday. I told her it was a hoax and she was like "What do you mean a hoax. I've been telling people about this all week!"
I told her that's what she gets for believing emails. lol
Luckily for her, it was cloudy last night and no one could tell the difference. Unfortunately for me, I missed the eclipse :(
