Actually, 18 is lame.
19 is where you can actually do stuff. 21's even more and 25's where no one can say shi*t to you.

80 is where you can frame a young boy.

"Help, this boy is hitting me."
I know this because I got to university and I meet some interesting people there.
... And I know the legal ages for alot of stuff. :P
At 18 the only thing you can do that you couldn't before is vote. Oh, and you can watch R-rated movies, "without being hassled", which I didn't get anyways...
So, ya... Can't wait till I'm 19 :P

And, oh, stop reading my profile. :P
Also, if you're in Canada, you can buy material of a pornographic nature at 18. At 19 you can vote federally and you can purchase alcohol and tobacco legally.

Happy Birthday! I'm still older than you :P
If you join the military in the us, atleast the marines, most likely any other branch too.. but, they made it so if you have the stones to join the military, you can drink on base, at 18 or whatever age.
You can drive in the us at 14 lol.. but only with a permit, and you can get a license a year later I think.. so 15 you can drive by yourself, and you can get on a plane at 13 I believe.. I know i've been on planes by myself before I was 17.

I think loki was talking about flying planes.
And the Class 6 stores on bases require you to be 21 to purchase alcohol draken, so im not too sure about the marines allowing 18yr olds to *buy* alcohol, drink..heck i know ppl who have been drinking since they were in 5th grade...Its legal to drink anything at any age, long as you have parents consent.
Also, at 14 you can get a hardship liscense, ie neither parent is capable of driving and you would be the only person able to drive.

Yes, if you want to get specific, the law in ND says if you're 16 and with a parent you can drink at home.. and in Wisconsin you can drink in a bar with your parents if you're 16.
I heard that on the military channel, some military news show, i'm not sure if they can buy or not, but drinking... I'm pretty sure it's true :p

Where I live we can do some of those things at 16(drink) and others at 18 such as voting and smoking. and we can only rent cars at 21 :(
The way the Marine Corps order was explained to us was that the commanding officer of a base can authorize a lower drinking age DURING special occasions, such as the Marine Corps Birthday Ball.
So in conclusion, a 19 year old Marine cannot go and drink whenever he feels like it, it has to have been in the daily orders that "Insert Date Here" the legal DRINKING age has been lowered to age 18.
That also means that that a 19 year old cannot purchase alcohol.
The only exception to all of the above rules is that in Okinawa, the legal drinking age is always 20... Due to the fact the legal drinking age of Japan is that or lower.
Oh, which reminds me... If there is a base outside of the Continental US, The commanding officer can lower the Drinking and purchasing age down to the age of the area the base is at, however... This is rarely done because it increases risk and the marine corps follows a ORM (Operational Risk Management) policy.
I believe I have elaborated on this for far to long and therefor shall end this post
