I Googled the first name, and upon realizing it was a f'king anime character, promptly lost all faith in humanity. Ok, not really, but this is a prime example of why designer babies should not be allowed. I don't really care much about morals and all that good stuff, and from a scientific standpoint, genetic engineering is great, but stuff like designing your baby after a bloody cartoon character is insane. Genetic engineering should be used to wipe out stuff like predisposition to obesity or cancer or short stature or anything else that has huge effects on quality of life. Note that indulging a parent's passing fascination with something is not one of those.
By the time technology is advanced enough to do this, we'll all be six feet under already.
