What do you think of the current staff? 35 replies
I get muted for giving my opinion on the staff? Ridiculous in my opinion. I haven't seen any moderators really do anything except Battlecruiser mute me for every reason he can think of.
I haven't seen Korgrath, FireStarter, or Loki in a while. I've never seen DannyFO do anything that has to do with him being a moderator. TheSource just got modded again so I can't say for him.
I'm not complaining about the admins. Not much to do. Chat gets messed up and Tom fixed it very quickly.
But seriously though. Nothing really happens that requires moderation except for swearing and spam in forum and chat.

I honestly think some mods should be dropped and more active ones be appointed. Especially the mods who have disappeared.

I don't know any site that pays moderators. People volunteer or get appointed in order to help. These mods don't do anything and in my opinion should be demoted and more active ones appointed.
When I was a mod on GB forums I never got payed. I still managed to do my job.

You kind of answered yourself... What do the mods do? Well, nothing, because nothing ever really happens anymore. All the great flamers of past have either grown up, or gotten a life. Why complain about letting stuff go in the forums? Two people would be banned right away... you and dondon. Personally, despite the sad inactivity of the forums, I like it, it reminds me of when I started being able to speak my own opinion without sugar coating it in the days of Jeanguy when all our moderators were long inactive, with the likes of HELLSS, Elm, and Raider all maybe showing up every few months. Take advantage of it I say, and start saying something worthwhile.

Firestarter - I dunno about him, maybe a kangaroo ate him, unfortunately that kangaroo then would have died from a horrible case of indigestion.
Loki - I wouldnt be surprised if he gives up his mod-tag soon, hes had a few crises pop up in his life that have required his full attention, so yes...this mod hasnt been around much, however, he was around quite often.
DannyFO - If i remember correctly Danny most does alot of behind the scene work on that new game of Blake's.
Battlecruiser is the only mod who sits in chat for prolonged periods of time and actually pays attention and monitors it quite well given his circumstances (hey not everyone can be a rocket scientist and a chat mod! =P). You might disagree with his mutes, but in my opinion he is very lenient, ive seen several cases where someone has deserved a prolonged mute or a warning, yet usually...he hits them with a 5 minute mute.

Solution? What is that a solution to? My headache? No, first, we need to address the real problem, which is not primarily the Moderators, but the productivity of our dear site, which by the way, has seemingly slowed down to almost a halt, I would say. Then we need a solution to that, and then acting upon it would be the next step. I am not blaming the Admins, we all know they are busy and don't get payed, and compared to some of the Admins of old, we should be blessed to even still see their name here once in awhile. But is it futile to keep wishing for something that may never happen? Where is this site going, and how will we help to improve it? These are the things that we need to be thinking about, and acting upon rather then about how our Moderators aren't banning invisible hackers/cheaters, and how they aren't killing off the last two active posters(TC, Dondon) who yes can be annoying, and even malicious at times to the general public.

As yet another note, I would like to add that the production of the site is not our right to fully determine as we can not see it in its raw process. For all we know, Tom & Blake have been working very hard, and SeanM may even be working on Julianus, and one day, we may wake up to a huge update. Then again...

I remember about half the people who came here were people who yahoo searched "Starcraft Games" and found TL because that's when Starcraft was out. Hell, if NN made a "World of Warcraft" themed Terran Legacy, it would fail.
Whatever, if you don't follow me, then I have no idea how to explain it. Quite frankly, I don't care if the purpose of this site is to generate income for the Browns or to supply gaming to people who are either too dumb to download a game or who don't have the PC capable of playing regular Doom. Only reason I return here once a week is to see if Elminster or IronSinew is AFK in chat or not? So far, over the past 7 months, every time I've checked here they are 5+ hours away in chat.
And I was posting after I read the additions, Sideo. So I don't really feel like responding to anything else except your first two sentences, because that's all I read.

I wasn't saying really disagreeing with you where this site was heading, and/or why, and I agree there. In fact, I questioned if it was futile or not to keep hoping for this site. But I'm guessing you didn't read that, and that may have been in one of my delayed addendum's, but more so, my post was in reference to your bit about TC, which then kind of sparked a rant from Moi.
