Can we get NN to be a secured site. I was just wondering because I should leave the states soon and the only way I will be able to access sites is secured http. :)
Is anyone else in a possible situation like this? :/

I guess I've never noticed that NN isn't secure, which is really gay actually.
I agree with Hep, for other reasons, this should be changed. I know how to get this done and I know it's pretty simple, for the most part.. So nothing should be stopping the Admins.

Well, you know military networks only like secured crap sooooo... yeah. ONly reason why I posted. :/
Maybe I could get my people to play the game. LOL.

Oh my gayness, I didn't know there is such a thing called secured websites :O
I can't tell if you're being serious or not. O.o
Yeah, me neither. Are you being serious? :P Hope you don't buy things off the internet. LoL.
I do buy things off the internet. That is how serious I am =P
Make sure it says https:// in the address bar. ;)
i actually bought my internet connection/service provider etc off the internet. mad huh?
Earthlink?
I have no idea what that means
Hmm... I heard of Earthlink before. Is that somehow related to Startrek?
Earthlink is dial up internet :p very cheap and very old.
Yes, indeed it is. :P

Oh yeah, GET THE POST BACK ON TRACK! Can we get NN on https?
Ohh.. You meant that super old internet connection that makes this beeping sound each time you connect to the internet eh? Oh man..
Hep-
If the site went to https every single person would no longer to sit down and type www.netnexus.com
Wed all have to type out the https:
:P
perhaps you can find a secure proxy?

True GM, I could use a proxy but we are talking about a MILITARY network. They don't take kindly to proxies! ;)
And no, we all do NOT have to type https://
Do you have to type https:// just to get to facebook? Nope you can type http://www.facebook.com or https://www.facebook.com (try it for yourself if you don't believe me.)

Erm, Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying? :P
Th last time I checked, facebook isn't secured. Its http://
Check it out yourself =)

No, you're all wrong.. I believe lol.
When you have a secured website, it's when you log into an account on that website.. So we wouldn't all have to type out the full url.
But, since facebook was brought up.. Yes, it is a secure website, go check it out. Log in, when you're logging in watch the url and for a split second it'll be https instead of http.
My two cents. =D

Drake, are you a computer genius?
Anyway, you are right, what you said is true.

Lol yes, I am all mighty! You shall soon bow to me and my computers!! Muahahaha...
Gah, what I am saying is that you can go to facebook two ways: You can use http://www.facebook.com or https://www.facebook.com
Either way doesn't matter. LoL! I just want netnexus like that because the network I use for work only allow HTTPS sites and if we have the other network it will block out nn because it will say (games) lol.

Oh yeah, and so you know http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=213 is my job in the army. (NO I AM NOT RECRUITING ANYONE!!)
Hep are you recruiting? Isn't it against the law to recruit soldiers through a game website? The chances of you recruiting little girls are quite high. hahaaha!
Bleh, that's because you are all little girls!! (At least that is what I read. Is it true?)
hep- ive ran into https:// sites that would return page not found errors if you dont specifically put https.
That being said, you can do https://www.google.com if you want and it will take it.
Oh hep since youre in the army, quick question:
During PT in the morning if:
A) A road is not made off limits.
B) The posted speed limit is 10mph
C) No soldiers are in the road
What is the speed limit?
Someone flagged me down this morning telling me that the speed limit with soldiers present is 5mph. Just curious if hes full of it or if thats actually the case. He is also lucky i was in a hurry otherwise i think i would have asked him who he was to report him to his CO for stopping me like that. (regardless of wether im speeding or not, he isnt an mp)

You can go 10 MHP when passing troops in formation, if they were not in formation you can go the speed limit. If it was me, I would just be slow because I wouldn't want to kill anyone. Also, anyone has the right to slow you down (stop you and ask you to slow down) for the safety and well being of their soldiers. :/

Also, if you run into "Page not found" errors and it's because it's a HTTPS site, that is because whatever computer you are on has local computer policies set to that. IE: My computer at work (military network) doesn't allow me to access http://www.us.army.mil/ but allows me to access it using the https://. The network I will be only ONLY allows https though, it's the only reason why I was asking if it could be done but I see no admins talk to us in the forums :/ LOL. ** I don't think it's important enough of a support ticket though. I will probably just create my own secured proxy server... and figure out how to run it on my network, since I own it after all. (To a certain extent.)
You can also put some girly suff on the server so that you can view it when you are taking a break =P
Oh, great idea! I love it!! I will do that ASAP! ;)
netnexus would need to register an SSL certificat and get a dedicated IP for every domain they have. so netnexus.com, nations.netnexus.com, etc. Doing this could cost hundreds a year.
Also running ssl encryption for every single page is a waste of server ressources and it's totally useless.
A connection does not need to be crypted when no sensitive data is transmitted. So except for logging in, submitting credit card info or viewing any other private data SSL should never be used.
SSL is so overated, people have no clue how it even works.
You can use a web based proxy like https://launchwebs.org/

Yay for Jeany?
Jeany, I am assuming you did not read the whole thread, uh? Proxies will be out of the question due to MILITARY wait wait, let me do that gain, **MILITARY** networks I will be using. Before you go off and saying people don't have a clue how stuff works, make sure you know what we are talking about FIRST. Plus, some web hosting websites COME with it to begin with, and don't tell me they don't because I used own websites and all it took was two clicks of a mouse to make the whole website secured. Bleh. (I just don't know how netnexus' stuff works, hint the thread I made.)
