Every single mother f'ing time i try to get on netnexus and nation it gives me this

My host file is clean, running ad-aware, spybot search and destory, avg and the micro trend cleaner.

Any ideas?

I get the same sort of error message when I try and log in on my girlfriends computer. I think it might actually be an ISP issue and the ISP not communicating with Netnexus well. My computer is a different ISP and while there are times when the server is too busy I dont get the same denial that I get when I am at gf's. Are any of the mods or our admin able to make a comment or suggestion on this?

Try googling it and following their link.

As Walt Disney said, it sounds like your ISP is having trouble communicating with netnexus, but it also looks like something (most probably malware) changed your browser settings to do a search if it couldn't find a particular site.

Add the following lines to your host file. It should help point your ISP in the right direction.

216.127.92.13 www.netnexus.com
216.127.92.13 nations.netnexus.com

I'd assume it's some weird server that you are going through to get to NN that has an old dns registrar cached / still in use.

Try tracert'ing the connection and I may possible make a thread to post the logs any time someone has an issue to look for a common thread.

Start -> Run -> "cmd"

Meanwhile, you might also want to try this:

Go to your network connections. 2nd click local network connection --- Properties. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click properties.

In General, click "use the following DNS server" and for the first line write in 207.218.223.132, for the second line put in the IP adress of your modem (The IP adress you write in your browser when you want to reset or change some settings). Click OK then Close.

With that, you can access NN via the rackshack server, but you wont be able to access anything else. It's temporary, but at least you can do your turns.

a freind of mine had that prob once so he just typed www.netnexus.com/nations

i unno if that will work for you at all.

i don't actually know if it would be the same exact prob.

Its definately a DNS isssue. We had that same thing happen to us at work. Try using public DNS servers, using Sal's steps. Try these addresses:
195.20.105.149
213.133.115.5

You should be able to surf the net too, i havn't tried though. Just go to google and search for Public DNS servers.

Ill try it out. Ill do a traceit on nn and see what pops up.

We use 4.2.2.2 at work for dns, ill also try that.

(90% of time 4.2.2.2 fixes dns issues, its a primary dns server for the internet i belive)
