Ok, now I've said this before, that it would be cool to make a clan Canada with a bunch of Canadian players... Kind of in hopes that the Americans might do the same... I don't know, but it would be interesting and might spark some controversy and arguements over who is better...
Just wondering about the general opinion of this idea.. Is anyone interested in maybe making something of this in the future?
The only thing I'd hate about this idea would be not letting some friends in due to the fact that they aren't Canadian. IE: Jing..

I'll join under one condition.
You can get Sal to play seriously again (and have him in the clan).

That would be very hard to do, considering Sals stubborness.. If he joins, or even comes back to play seriously, it would be totally on his own will.. In other words, I can'y manipulate him to come back on my own...

Yeah... referring to what I said earlier to pic... It would be hard to get Sal to join.. But now that think about it, it might be impossible.. Simply because he's from quebec... and... well.. you see.. in Quebec.. people tend to think that they are in their own country... but what they can't see is our big red Canadian flag hovering above them..
On a side note.. there's almost enough Quebecers here alone to make their own clan. Of course, Canada would still own them. :P

If i had to be on team canada for olympics id do it because in quebec, on the news, they tend to seperate quebecors from canadians when giving the scores :)

As for the difference between the Québec and the Canada, it mainly in it people.
since 300 years, both (french an english) of our culture have devellope side by side, hardly mixing up. The result was some minor to major difference in our behavior, beer store is the best exemple. In Quebec you can buy beer and alcool almost everywhere, but in other Canadian province you can perchase only in the beer store.
It doesnt mean that we despise the Canada and hate it. It just that since there is so little of us, we get closer and support each other, giving us a preference over the rest of the Canada.
Else then that, it just two flag for the same country.
As for the Clan Canada, i'm in for the adventure. For a round or two it would be really nice :D

I wasn't angry concerning Quebec merging with Canada (although it sounds weird to me), I was more angry about Guildamage stating that Sal loves France because he speaks French, just as I do.
I was assuming sal liked france more simply because ive heard him say he doesnt like canada, and that quebec shouldnt even be part of canada. Just a bad assumption. =)

In reference to Guilda's post, most Quebecois Canadians have a complex that makes them believe they should be a seperate country. In actuality, Quebec wouldn't go very far without all the money they recieve from the Federal Government. I say let them leave... watch a "nation" crumble and come back home to Canada; the country that even allows seperatists a homeland.
Honestly, I think that Quebec leaves a rich imprint on Canada's timeline, but if they want to leave and be their own people, then all the power to them. I'm tired of all the french -vs- english that goes on. Quebec wouldn't be as great as it is if it wasn't in Canada, and Canada wouldn't be as great without Quebec. End of story.

I'm sure that Canada and Quebec benefits of each other, that is why the economic relation must. However, about the "decisionel" power and about where the money goes and for what, it would better managed if each province would take care of their money.

That is one of the main reasons that there are such strains between the French and English sides of Canada. The English say "Whatever, they're another province" but Quebec goes "We are our own culture, and as such we will have nothing to do with these English speaking riff-raff"

We should deal with unbalances after we make the clans. ex - if Canada is to big we get Quebec to separate.

Alex...French is spoken in Louisianna yet i didnt say he wanted to be a Cajun. I simply said France because yes..in terms of "quebuecois" culture i am completely uneducated, however, unless you can give me a brief history of Texas (where im from) without looking it up, dont call me uneducated.

It's not that we like ourselves too much...we simply don't see the point of learning history from a country that's not ours when we have plenty of things to learn about our own.

SS, we have history course about US. It is falcutative thought, and it is offered in secondary 5. We also had an history course in secondary 2 which was a global course about history, starting from the old Mesopotamian to the industrial age passing by the Pharaon and the discovery of America and the Boston Tea Party. In secondary 4 I had a course about Quebec history, like every nation has a course about their history.
If I would have like to go further, I could have taken other course of history, but it would have been useless for the profession I want to do.

In Québec, since we dont have a veru huge history, most of the time we study the becoming of Europe, then Canada and Quebec.
After that we study worldwide history, more precicely the world developpement.
In USA, from what I,ve read they will study more were they come and their nation history, in Québec they prefer the Europe history since it is where we come from.
In every cases, we dont have choice of wich coures we take since our path is limited by the choices of our governement or our school, they teach what they see fit and that it.
If you start a debat about history, debate about who made the choices and why, not about those who must live with it.

Oh yeah and here in Michigan. I know from high school till college. I learned nothing about canada. Honestly never cared to learn anything and most of the people really don't mention anything about canada besides it's the closet place for people in michigan to get drunk under 21 and freak niagra falls that ain't that ain't what its cracked up to be.

Bush wasnt a bad president his first term, he did moderately well. And i agree...he stole the elections the first time, but im happy he did. Al Gore would not have handled 9/11 the way Bush did. Say what you want about how much Bush sucks, i will agree with you whole-heartedly, but he performed wonderfully the first few monthes following 9/11.

But Canada has people from f***ing everywhere. We have hundreds of cultures, and no one culture dominates. This cultural BS is around because we are a new country! We are still clinging to our ancestry! In Europe, people have been in the same country for f***ing ever. They came from somewhere else and experienced the same BS we do today, only they're causing it here thousands of years later. In a few hundred years, "Canadian" will be a legitimate nationality, instead of "yeah I'm English, Swedish, ..."

And just to so you know. It is an obligation to learn english, we start english in primary and we can stop once arrived in university if we pass an English Exam which is there to put a standard, if we don't pass it, we have to take more enblish course.
Also, during college, we are given the choice to learn spanish, german or chinese. Even more, if once arrived at CEGEP, we are "too" good in english, we HAVE to take another language course, either is spanish, german, chinese.
Once again, like history courses, it is a choice that the student have to take. Of course some of them just pass flush their english and they can't talk correctly, it is their choice, like people who decides to stop school.
Also, something strange, people that talks english doesn't much care about learning french, at least that is what I am seeing, I might be wrong, but I know more "frenchies" that knows how to talk english the english canadian or american that knows how to talk french.

The French-Canadian culture is something, the French-Quebequer is something even more within the french-canadian culture.
