why does the round end same time? 41 replies
Can't the time for the end of the round be rotated, so that it isn't always 0130 EDT?

Once again this new round is scheduled to end at 1:30 a.m. EST.............Rotate the timezones---PLEEEEEZE
agrees
Yeah the round ended at like 3 in the morn for me
but its hard to get a good time for everyone thats why they start you off with like 75 turns so you dont lose any

still hurts some people at the end of the round, not me though, ended at 12:00 for me
I like the time, i wish it would rotate days though...
Yeah it's a screwed up deal.
It truely favors somebody playing in the P.S.T. zone.

or we could return to the old system where everybody has equal chance of winning??
agrees with Entity-Neo... old system was a lot better.
I agree with Neo 100%
I'm pretty sure the end of round changes by one hour every round. To my knowledge this was implemented a while back, unless it's been changed again. I'm never able to get on for the end of round. Last round ended at 4 in the morning for me. It used to end earlier than that. First when I started it used to end around midnight. I know this because it used to interfere with me sending out my midnight forecasts.

Kev send me those debates, and i mean it this time :p

Unfortunately there is no good time for everyone. Euros would be at like 3am if the round ended in the late evening for people in NA. And times good for Euros are bad for those in NA because it might be during the day, when someone could be at work or school. That brings up another problem: ending in the middle of the month. A lot of us go back to school in September, so that means that a lot of people can't be playing Nations every day because of time restraints. At least make the rounds end on the 30th so that there isn't a half round ending in the middle of September.
Bottom line:
Scheduling will always f*** someone over, especially when dealing with big timezone gaps.

cllander i think youre wrong. the last 3-4 rounds(these are ones i recall) the round ended at 1:30 am eastern for me. i have noticed no changes in the end time for the rounds.
i think they should bring back the old system...even if its for a little while. think of it as a "retro" round.LOL!
It's impossible that the time for the rounds doesn't change. Why? Because there's 2 hours of delay before the next round kicks in after one ends which goes on for 30 days. I'm sure you can figure the rest out.
I must agree I like the way the game used to be myself and it is always ending around 1:30 am e.s.t.

In fact I just went and did some quick math and it looks like yes this round will end at around 1:36 AM yet again!
Did Thruster just mathematically pwn Elm?
1) its a 3 hr wait
2) again i say...for the last 3-4 rounds i recall the rounds ending at roughly 1:30am eastern thus the time never changed.
3) yes...elmo got pwnt! =O
THRUSTER>Elm
And I also agree that the old system should be brought back :)

Hmmn! 17 out of 19 posts in favor of change..seems like a landslide! Which MOD can notify the Admin of this?
I argued with tar about this and he seemed not to want to change back...
Yet everyone (including me) agrees we SHOULD change back. With sourcy being away, it wont happen soon, but it might happen considering he seems to listen to the community a bit more.

sal is god! He has spoken! we shall all listen! :)
So get rid of the stupid wait since it doesn't do anything and make rounds last the month rather than 31 days or whatever it is. February rounds would force some people to attack before they were ready.:P
It's funny how it was changed by people who don't play the game, yet the people who do would like it the old way.
Actually, that's not funny.

bump--so an admin might see it--soon

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but TheSource has openly said that he is not going to update Nations.
Nations as in Nations or Nations as in Nations2 as well?
I can see possibly not wanting to change HOW the end of the round is played, but I don't think the TIME OF DAY should be a big deal to rotate.. ADMIN TARS, SIR!
I agree with JEB on this one, i like how the rounds end right now. Ive heard how the old style was and it doesnt interest me. I do agree that chaning the time things end would certainly change who makes it into the top 5.
is nations2 going to be a replicate of nations1?
they could always keep nations1 as it is, and change nations2 to be the old system

wow...that has to be one of the best ideas ive ever heard truex2. that would be great if Nations remained as is and Nations 2 could be replicated to look like the older Nations.
Which is what I've been saying for weeks.
either way, something needs to be done to rotate the time zones so everybody gets a shot at winning.
Nations2 ????
Nations2 is a rumor... Don't pay attention to it, right mboys?
shameless #bump#--rotate the time zones for the end of the round!!
Actually I thought I read some time back that the round would end / start like an hour or two later? each round....
I dont think anything like that has been implemented.
