When you have someone like Doalca who has been consistently active for years, i dont think ive ever seen out of the top 20 since i joined 2 years ago, and more often then not is in the top 10 or top 5.
Doa has ranked 59 times. 57 top 20s of which 39 are top 10s.

Well guessing as 3 quarters of the people on the list are inactive, and inless you all talk on msn or something, I would be guessing Danny pretty much voted them in by himself.
Okay, everybody stop passing around the Haterade and enjoy this occasion. There may be more deserving people, but DEMON works on a vote system. Additionally, Goliath is definitely a long-pending entry. He may not have played in 5 years, but he should have got in back then. Problem is, when you only induct up to 3 people a year, a lot of people get passed over... so anyways, this is supposed to be a happy thread.

i agree with SL69! just because you may have not been around when these people were or did something significant, doesnt mean they dont deserve to be inducted due to inactivity.
from what i know...
goliath made/led LE which i recall as being one of Nations top clans in its history period. i mean seriously, they even had their own site at the time which was linked to the game.
SK was around since even the 1st void i believe and just cause he missed less then a year, doesnt mean he should be any less acknowledged. hes a past mod as well and i wont be surprised if he gets his modship back. on top of that, he knows how to rank well and has demonstrated this in the past and should be a big threat to anyone going ftw in upcoming rounds.
deano led vikings for the longest and fought during the wb era. on top of that, he always kept his character intact and was a for-change guy. alot of the things that have been change is cause of him. this includes multies-abuse, in-game cheating, etc.
people that were around for these events know what im talking about. and this is a short list of achievements for all 3.
to me, thats deserving of being inducted into DEMON!

I'm sorry if I was not clear. I was around and do know about these players and "some" of their accomplishments. The fact is though, a inductee in 2009 should not be based on something accomplished in 2001 etc. There is fresh talented blood that have been a part of this game over the past 3-4 years ACTIVELY.
I just feel that if you waste an entire year inviting three members, two who don't even play and one that just came back, to D.E.M.O.N. it really isn't saying much for all the players who have been active and supporting netnexus for quite a while.

tina history shows that people of the past/for their past events is what gets them acknowledged and inducted into a specific group/membership/etc.
look at sports, you dont see lebron james(basketball) getting inducted into the HOF now even though hes recently broken literally like 50 records (for basically be the youngest to do...).
it would suck if it worked that way. then that would mean i should be inducted ahead of most people since i have the record for most wins and and breaking many records, and leading X (arguably the best clan in terms of achievements), and supporting NN through my numerous vips, etc.
and believe me, i dont feel i deserve to be in DEMON...at least not at this point in my time here.

There are many players that will look over this occasion and call names about it, it is trivial and will not get you anywhere. what's done is done and you should be happy for Sk, Deano, Goliath. They have earned the respect of many players.
For those who are wondering, it is not about how much you play the game, but how much you help the game in the end to prosper and grow. These three players have added something to the game at hand, and no one is allowed to take that away from them. If you haven't noticed it yet, give it time, you will.
Many people on this list still do come back to Netnexus and check up on it, people will just not know about it. It does not matter that these players have not played the game in several months or even years, they are still there to lend a hand, if not in the forums be it in the private chat or on msn. People will just not know.
These players have contributed to the game be it from moderating the website to creating a training program that new players could follow to learn. there are many things that come to contribute to nations or Netnexus in general, it is not squarely based on how they do during the rounds, it is everything else that counts.
Many things have changed through the years, from clans to moderators, but one thing stays the same for all time, the love of the game. these three players have shown that they have respect for others and respect for the game and Netnexus as a whole.

So I joined pretty much when Shady did, was mod as well, played nations actively as well, ranked, won rounds, made a guide, made a long lasting training clan. Talked about Nations on every site I hang in and took care of numerous new players.

Whenever you don't see a former X member bending the rules to win, or a player over 30, then that can pretty much be traced to Golly lol..
This is a Hall of Fame, although not all players are well known, their rounds were singular ones that changed NN history

D.E.M.O.N. list is retrospective & recognizes members who are canonized into our little NN world's story, AND don't actively go around puffing themselves up - you HAVE your reward :) This is a Hall of Fame, although not all players are well known, their rounds were singular ones that changed NN history

Why don't a group of recent top notch players come together and make a newer version of this DEMON?
Make the cutoff list 2004 or something and have specific requirements for admission.
IE: 20 ranked rounds, 1000 posts, 1 round win, and so on.

thats not a bad idea. except 1000 post is a bad idea. instead it should be a certain amount of time as a member......or maybe 400 or 500 posts. Or maybe that be the guidline for the current demon.
Number of posts doesn't necessarily correlate to diligence considering, in some cases, they could consist of mostly spam and useless posts.

Goliath's greatest achievement was reverse-engineering the mathematics of the Nations program at the time. He somehow managed to get the formulas down to like...the 4th decimal position or something.
After he got the formulas down, it was a matter of devising the most efficient ways to achieve tech while maintaining food/oil and military power. That's what allowed clan IA, which later became LE, which later briefly merged with Avengers to become LA, to dominate so powerfully.
And then SeanM came along and changed all the formulas in the name of balancing the game. PWN!
