at the end of the day, you cant knock the clan's history of dominating every aspect of the game; from winning rounds, alt ranks, point ranks to warring the best of the best, to supporting clan members and having uber loyalty to allies.

When I first join up on this site Liquid Endeavor and Frontline where hot poo poo and I forever will think of those guys as the best. They made me interested in this game. Plus Frontlines flag kicked ass; I vote them.
Front line was pretty solid.

True X, for providing me and my clan with consistent and strong competition round after round. Racing players such as Thebest in the tech rankings was always great fun.

I would have to say Avengers. In my mind, X was the most skilled clan, but Avengers was the clan I respected the most because of their conduct.

This is the vote for most respected clan, not a search for the oldest or the best, though there would be many debates for either category.
Respect for a clan comes from the heart of the community, gained or lost by their members through a series of deeds or misdeeds, not freely given away through the passage of time.
It does not work that way.
As the quote goes, respect cannot be learned, purchased or acquired, it can only be earned.
For example.
One cannot automatically respect a stranger simply because s/he is old and wrinkly, you have to get to know them first and so forth before even an ounce could be spared.

I think the meaning of this got misinterpreted from "Who is the most respected" to "Who is the best".
Easily, IC. Next Avengers. Simply because of longevity. Next would be DC. But X? Definitely in the top two best of all time. But does anyone remember the leagues of enemies X has built up over the years? Definitely not the most respected. However it is quite possible to respect your enemies, so who knows. lol

-Hoieri- is a very old clan, but until recently, Hehe and crackerjack were the only active members in the clan.
Hoieri easily survived as long as any clan I know, but while the clan itself is not very respected, Hehe have a very good reputation as loyal blood.
IC also happens to have a set of loyal members. ChaoticLaw, MJ, Sweety...
Vodka and Korgy were both former mods, which meant they are long term players and very loyal ones to boot.
That alone help help clan numbers to at least 5, if not more.
However, as I said before, if time alone makes a respected clan, or in your correction, survival, then I have yet another rebuttal.

While I dislike X, the clan have survived through a long passage of time, most say it rivals IC's history, only more glorious.
Many players that were anybody in this site was once in X, top players like Jeany, Thebest, AK, and so forth. BC and Loki were/are mods as well, countering IC's Vodka and Korgy.
Regardless of how they achieved it, their ranks once numbered in the hundreds and dominated the top 50, dominated the first rank, and dominated alt rankings.
While most clans were dwindling at 5 or 6 members, X rarely have less than 10 and that was when they were on a slump.
As SS said, X have made a number of foes, some that made clans with the goal of going directly against it. Yet, X continues to mass who they want, crushed their opponents, and while such foes eventually disappeared, X survive.
While I haven't a foggiest about the IC of the past, IC of today is quite dull compared to the most recent incarnation of X.
The only reason X died was because the original members, players who have not played this game in ages and think they know the best, came back and decided it was time for X to die, despite having a set of very loyal players who are devoted to its revival as we speak.
This would not be possible if X were not respected now, right? By their own members at the very least.

Here's the thing Jing, if respect was all about game results, then yes, X would probably be on top. However it is well known that X has used tactics that are dubious at best. Often people joined the clan in hopes of being able to get a win, but the leaders of the clan decided who would get the win and the rest of the clan was forced to do everything in their power to support that player. IC may not have been the powerhouse of rankings, but they never bent the rules.
As for your comment about 100 members. I'll remind you that at one time most of the established clans (X, IC, DC, etc) had 100 or so members. This only changed when the clan rankings came into effect. I don't think your point on this is very valid.
Comebacks. If I recall correctly X has disbanded and come back at least three times that I know of. Yes, this does show that there are always people willing to join the clan, but it also shows that without certain leaders, the clan can't survive. When you think about it though, there are other clans that could pull this off. If Windfall came back there would be instant clamour to restart FL, and they weren't even around for an entire year (at least I don't think they were). Actually, ICB could probably do it to, but not with as much fanfare as FL of course.

Jing, if you will notice one thing, I never once said due to The Inner Circle being the oldest means it is the most respected. I simply said that due to its age, it cannot fairly be compaired too other clans.
The other clans you mentioned, (X, AC, Chattan, and Fearrun) do disirve respect, of that I do not question. However, my point is that they are on two different playing fields.
Of the clans you mentioned, and others in the past, the only clan that has consistantly survied once its leader/founder has retired, is The Inner Circle! Yes, X has come back, time and time again since its leader and founder (Cody, if memory serves me correctly) retired, however it has not STAYED INTACT, which is the point I am makeing.
And CL, I do not beleive that X ever made it too 100 members, though I could be mistaken. I remember that Dynasty was the first clan to achieve that number (how Chinaman lead his clan effectivly with over 150 members, but he did), followed by The Inner Circle.
I believe that the "clan ranking" system came into effect before X was created, if not shortly before. Wasn't it X that, shortly after the creation of the ranking system, insititued the "training clan" idea? (ICB :P)

AC, X, Chattan, and any clan in the history of Nations have all made many contributions to Nation, regardless of their age.
I have already said a lot about X, so I'll just said it gained its reputation and status by consistently winning round after round despite its competitions.
While I do not know Chattan well to make points, I do respect the clan to some extent.
In the past, it wars like a beast and can tech like one as well. For a time, with Pic to tech and Storm to war, Chattan was the only challenge to X, and then Nirvana when it came along.
In a way, it was a perfectly balanced clan.
While I did not support Storm's decision to merge it into IC, I suppose he knows best.
As Goliath said earlier, the members of Avengers have an excellent conduct.
When she make alliances, she keeps them. If someone wants help, she sends aid. If her allies is missing a member or two to stay rank, she even lends them some to stay afloat if she got some to spare.
AC do not go to war for the wrong reasons and their members look out for one another, just not in the level that X does.
Such actions deserve an unfathomably amount of respect, no?
Shall I add Nirvana? The clan that suddenly popped up and dominated the rankings WHILE in a war before leaving with a bang?
Or 7th Calvary. Once they targeted you, they stick to you like glue. Ask Domination why it disbanded last time. They simply love war.
Or how about Sado Masochists? SM has dominated and war its shares of rounds. Despite all odds(War with Nirvana), it remain standing still and just recently made a very impressive comeback.
Forget Devil Knights? Led by WeaponX, dominated the rankings for a time. War a few. Still made very bold headlines if you asked me.
I'm glad you mentioned DC so I don't have to.
But despite all their accomplishment, they are apparently in a 'different playing field' as Inner Circle, so much so that they can't even compared.
So.
Care to enlighten me on what it has done to deserve such respect?
What war has it fought?
What rounds has it won?
What aid has it given to its allies?
In other words...
What has it done to deserve respect other than being an old clan?

IC may be the oldest clan and IC may have survived where other clans fall, but what has it done? You have never answer me that.
As I've quoted, respect cannot be learned, purchased or acquired, it can only be earned.
AC, X, Chattan, and any clan in the history of Nations have all made many contributions to Nation, regardless of their age.
I have already said a lot about X, so I'll just said it gained its reputation and status by consistently winning round after round despite its competitions.
While I do not know Chattan well to make points, I do respect the clan to some extent.
In the past, it wars like a beast and can tech like one as well. For a time, with Pic to tech and Storm to war, Chattan was the only challenge to X, and then Nirvana when it came along.
In a way, it was a perfectly balanced clan.
While I did not support Storm's decision to merge it into IC, I suppose he knows best.
As Goliath said earlier, the members of Avengers have an excellent conduct.
When she make alliances, she keeps them. If someone wants help, she sends aid. If her allies is missing a member or two to stay rank, she even lends them some to stay afloat if she got some to spare.
AC do not go to war for the wrong reasons and their members look out for one another, just not in the level that X does.
Such actions deserve an unfathomably amount of respect, no?
Shall I add Nirvana? The clan that suddenly popped up and dominated the rankings WHILE in a war before leaving with a bang?
Or 7th Calvary. Once they targeted you, they stick to you like glue. Ask Domination why it disbanded last time. They simply love war.
Or how about Sado Masochists? SM has dominated and war its shares of rounds. Despite all odds(War with Nirvana), it remain standing still and just recently made a very impressive comeback.
Forget Devil Knights? Led by WeaponX, dominated the rankings for a time. War a few. Still made very bold headlines if you asked me.
I'm glad you mentioned DC so I don't have to.
But despite all their accomplishment, they are apparently in a 'different playing field' as Inner Circle, so much so that they can't even compared.
So.
Care to enlighten me on what it has done to deserve such respect?
What war has it fought?
What rounds has it won?
What aid has it given to its allies?
In other words...
What has it done to deserve respect other than being an old clan?

Honestly, with members changing every year or so, the respect of clans fluctuates so much I honestly can't decide.
Plus, respect is such a broad term. Respect what? Their skills? Their "honour" (If such a thing exists in this game)? Their dedication? Their tight-knitness? Their warfare abilities?

Alive, yes. Active, uh... decidedly not. I won't play again unless Nations receives the major updates and changes it desperately needs. It's still as broken, exploitable, and uninteresting as it was when I left it 5 years ago.
Really, I just visit once in a while to say "hi".
