I take it that everyone else read what happened in the newspaper.

Jill was one of first ones here to teach me to play the game. She took me under her wing and took time to help. I am still shocked to hear the news.

Tony and I did a bit of research and found out that Jill had cancer. We could not determine if that is what she passed away fom but under curcumstances it could be likely. Just hope she did so peacefully and with loved ones at her side.

Funny. I think I remember banning them both along with their 6 or so children.

Back then, it seemed most people wanted them gone. I had to deal with it, then. This post amuses me slightly. I suppose death is more of a finality. I can't decide if hypocrisy is involved or not.

Hating someone in a game doesn't (hopefully) mean you wish for his/her death nor that you'd be happy or unconcerned by it, silly Elmo.

You may show compassion to people you once hated without being hypocrite, that is some sort of maturity in my opinion.

By the way, hi and I've been wondering if you're still living near Niagara Falls?
Elmy said on: 2009-12-16 10:19 am

Perhaps not, but death doesn't change a person. They just become a memory, instead. I think people just want to be remembered for the good they did, so that is reflected in their contemplation of the dead. It doesn't mean you have to be happy, but it doesn't mean you have to regret the fact that they died either. There should be no emotion there, really. Society changes the way we perceive death.

When I die, please remember me for the insensitive brother of mine that I was. Not for who I wanted to be, or who everyone wants everyone to be. Reality is my world.

Hi. I do still live in Niagara Falls. Just moved, but still in the same city. Why?

Elminster have you lost someone that was really colse to you? There is always emotion when there is a death.

That my friend is where you are wrong. Emotion is not always present when there is death.

My condolences to her family, but it's true. I've heard nothing but complaints about them since I've been here.
While reading this thread, I found myself reminded of a song...

...Meh, I'm already going to hell.

Crowther, I understand what you mean. However, I was referring to this specific incident. Unless all who posted here personally knew this person, the circumstances don't change. I personally will not offer my condolences, because they would be empty words. As, I believe, most people's here were. I knew them, sure. Would I wish death on them? Probably not. Would I care if they did die? Ehh... Only in the sense that every living thing has a right to do just that, live. It's unfortunate when that chance is gone.

Then we'll really know!

I sort of agree with Elmy, that's why I usually avoid these kind of threads. But at the same time, I wouldn't post in them stating my thoughts like that either, that's just a bit cruel. :p

6 kids? I don't recall that...unless wb = Aal, then that I do recall.

I talked to Wb over MSN a few days ago and even though the first thing he asked me was to unban his NN account, he told me what happened to his wife.

Jilly had lung cancer, it spread to her brain and she died on November 5th. Wb is trying to get over it, but he told me "he's not doing good" so far.

Here are the bad news, for those who care...
