not being rude or at least i know i sound rude, but it isnt my intention.

look at the player base on NN

shut it down except for the nn messaging etc or just kill nations or what not and wait for a major release to breathe life back into the game...

nn isnt above the critical mass point, were simply dying away now. kill it for a while, fix it up and then re-open... but leave a portal for all us oldbies or diehards to chat on...

sorry rambling ill wamder elsewhere now

i was going to say winning doesnt take skill anymore and even my win barely took any skill...
the hard days are long gone... just about anyone with three active techies and a wannabe farm can win now...

I'm sure this has already been suggested, but a divider like the "After round 56" might be a good idea.

I agree, I have been semi-active this round, the first round in a few years, and have to admit that the game, as it stands, is all but dead.

There are only 20 or so active or semi-active players, of which 3 or so have a chance of a win and furthermore with such a limited player base all the game needs is 2 - 3 clan alliances and the prospect of war disappears all together.

When I first joined NN, many years ago, there were hundreds of active players, 10 - 15 real clans, lots of back-stabbing, underhand tactics, flame wars and good old round length clan wars and massings.

In 25 days or so of the round, I have had 3 messages and have seen a maximum of 3 players online at any one time, it's a pretty sad state of affairs and something needs to be done to liven up the game and gain/re-gain the interest of players/potential players.

I'd bring back Vikings but anyone worth massing at the moment is a friend and there's not enough potential Vikings to create the havoc I'd want to create.

My vote is for change it or kill it before it dies a sad and lonely death.

I question myself every time I log on why I'm still playing. I just love this game and has life left in it IF something, anything were done. Over my years here I have talked, messaged, e-mailed mods and admins that any way I could help I would.....nothing. Not that I could save this place but I know I am not alone in people who have offered and again....nothing. Either my offers were turned down, not responded to or they were not the right person to speak to on the subject.
Plenty of opportunity for this place actually. Simple neglect and apathy on the part of those "in charge".
F'ing sad.

Theres only one thing that can be done to keep this site around.

ADVERTISING!

This site will never gain players via word of mouth, you have to advertise. Thats exactly how I found this game, it was posted on a website with a bunch of other games. So until this game puts in money to put up some ads on some other sites, it will go no where. Easy as that.

Theres no money to even invest in advertisements. When there was actually a couple hundred people playing this game, majority of the money from vip memberships should have been going towards advertising and expansion. But instead, seanm or whoever the money was sent to was $hitting on the pot.
Probably enough money per month in vips now to just pay for the bandwidth and domain.

Nations would thrive if integrated onto Facebook.

Moving the game to Facebook would certainly give it much more of a chance to grow and thrive. I imagine this would also provide an opportunity to implement game updates and changes if desired.

On a side note, hi. d(^_^v)

I think they were more referring along the lines of integrating Nations into Facebook, so you can play it through the Facebook website.

Seeing as how sticky Facebook is, it makes sense. Although I'm not sure how practical the idea would be... (I think Facebook doesn't support PHP apps/games?)

There was significant development of NN onto facebook I remember helping test it somewhat and checking the functionality of the games on facebook but as of the typing of this post it seems that the integration has been cut off and removed so I am unsure what is going on really

There are quite a few of us that still stop in and check, and if they site was giving a new breath of life I am certain many of us would come back and quite a few more would join in. the development of NN onto facebook needs to be completed and tested in a beta sense and released for proper use of all on facebook although I think there would need to be some changes or complete remaking of the games possibly and there is noone around to really accomplish that....

Unite and save the site? Or watch it die slowly...

Bring back classic nations and more people will play. The way the round end now is counter productive to what is appealing about the game in the first place. Spending a month taking your turn and then not be able to get on at rounds end makes the game a drag. The game has been losing players hand over fist ever scene this change.

pic told you this long ago but nobody wants to listen. I don't think you will listen no either so I will just say good by to the game.

i love Nations. ill remember this site forever, ill remember back in the day having to check my turns every dang 8 hours, setting my alarm so i would wake up to go check my turns. in my younger days it was like what i did in my spare time. it was basically was my facebook that i got on but with a game. i made friends and learned how to communicate with people i never knew in real life and learned in the end, everyone is out for themselves.

Online, greed is exponentiated due to the limited consequences. It's just human nature at its truest.

You realize that, up until a couple of hundreds of years ago, the world was set in a 'survival of the fittest' setting. For millions of years. It's ingrained into our nature. It's evolution. You don't outgrow millions of years of evolution in a couple hundred years. You can call it emo, or whatever you want.

Don't let your dislike of me cloud your eyes from fact. Your emotions are painfully obvious.

Oi just did nat
Dont come to NN much anymore, ill try to be by mre often now.

Elm, I dont exactly remember my point since I wasn't intending on responding to you and I'm on my phone so browsing is annoying. But, survival of the fittest and greed are two different animals. I believe in humankind, those who have will help those who have not. Just because people seek to secure their own safety first before seeking to help others doesn't make them greedy it makes them survivors.

Your right though elm, for the most part I dont like you. But I dont troll you, if I figure your talking sense I won't disagree just to make a scene and if I can't be bothered to spend time arguing with some internet entity that I dislike doesn't mean I'm inferior intellectually, it just means I simply dont care enough to reply with more then a flippant answer or narscissitic comment.
