Is the 45mm laser rifle the best general weapon available (the more expensive options have 1/2 attack vs. air or ground accordingly)?

No it is not. Go to the barracks and flirt with Erica. From there just propose to her. If you get kicked in the nuts, then deposit your money and die in the wastelands. This saves a long time for waiting to apply again. Buy the Weapon above the multi-cannon. It will best suit your needs. I can be reached at flindy@hotmail.com if you have any further questions:)

Prior to the closedown in 2000, I had a Prince account with Level 3 Energy Sheild and Psi Enhancer.

Now I'm back to being a n00b. :(

Having looked at http://tlhq.bravehost.com/barracks.htm I don't even know what to get once I reach the secret armory and contraband dealer... So much new stuff has been included.

Well if you have a vip bind then highest is 12m I think. If not, it's around 2.5 or 2? I haven't been on in ages.

the multi-cannon is best weapon for a non VIP account, if you have a VIP account best weapon is Planet Express and its priced at 12m credits

to become VIP, go to membership tab at top of screen, and just follow what it says in there, they request either a payment by a credit card or paypal.

Thanks for all your input guys. Now that I've found my old account, I've quickly sold the Level 3 Energy Shield for a Seige Tank Armor, but I've kept my Psi Enhancer for now.

The Level 3 Energy Shield but if you do happen to find a Shield Generator then it would help other than that there is nothing.
