TL reset 66 replies
I would like you, the TL users to vote on a TL reset, the current Top lists would be saved and put into a 'Hall of Fame' and I would probably host one last great war, in which the top 5 users would get a small starting stipend for their new accounts. Please vote, and also list any ideas you might have regarding this.

First, a selfish reason: I JUST got my account back. My account that is like 6 years old. I wanted to come back and play it to #1 on money. I almost suspect this is deliberate...
Second, what has resetting helped in the past? Remember when all the money was reset. That did a lot of good. People came back for a few days, then left. Let TL die without f***ing us players who like to play some TL occasionally have something to come back and play. It's like giving a terminal brain cancer patient a radiation dose sufficient to remove their immune system; you're just hastening death for no objective reason, because it's not leukemia!
If you reset, you will lose a lot of long time players, like me. Can you imagine a TL without dOnDoN?! Ok, there would have been no money reset, but still, can you?:P
How about resetting, but giving players an option to carry over ONE account of their choice, minus any money? Stats and items stay, though. To me, TL is more about the Legacy part than the stupid Terran part.:)

No, primarily because some people worked too hard to get to where they were. Yes, some accounts may be exploited/botted but they actually put the time in and effort to get that high.
Why reset when nobody plans on playing the game anymore?
It just doesn't make sense. One week you guys are going to be happy to see a reset and the next nobody is going to care. Soon netnexus is going to be its usual self - barren and dry.

I worked hard (with no bot) to get to were I am now and reseting TL will really be a bad choice for those like me who will lost everything...

Agreed, also considering the fact that only the top 25 records will be kept, think of how many players who spent their time to finally hit deity and to have the hope of furthermore boosting their character.. well its pretty much shattered.

The game is way beyond its prime and past its time.
Theres no way that the population and activity on netnexus will increase because of one game.
Why? - Its a text game and there are better things to do with your time and enjoyment rather than clicking away randomly.

I'll probably make a top 100 list rather than save the top 25s.
But Thesource..... why do you whant to reset TL? to make it more fun ?....like icefox says.. this game is dead.
The only thing that could be interesting here is that you make the TL 1.5 or 2.0 whatever is called the next TL... now, people could have some more fun discovering the new options, monsters, ranks and everything else.

I don't mind if you leave it or reset it. I'll always play just to keep it going. I've been playing TL through hard times and good times, that won't change with a reset.
when you say top 100, do you mean, top 100 in everything, like 4 differnt, top 100's, or top 100 overall, if that is possible. Like, taking the average of the accounts rankings, and rank it on the overall ranking.. maybe..

Everybody posting above voting yes has either quit the game and sold their account - or are too lazy to grind their way up to the top 25 leader board. I'm glad that you nubs summarize the entire netnexus community as being lazy, unmotivated, and effortlessly deprived.

I just bought a deity, that is ranked in the 30's on everything, and I still voted yes to clear it.

A reset would give us all an equal chance to have some fun. I'm getting the vibe that the only people who don't want it reset are the ones who put way too much time into the game (Hmmm... I wonder why?). You say TL's dead... THIS WILL BRING IT BACK AGAIN! You're just being selfish.

You guys seem to be missing the point of the lack of dwindling population we have in netnexus nowadays. Its nothing like what it used to be.
It hasn't been like it use to be, for years.
And I think you seem to be missing the point that this is a great opportunity to bring more players to the game, and maybe they would tell some of their friends to bring more people to it.
Hell, I'd be willing to invite some of my friends to NN that would like Terran Legacy, and I know some that have quit a long time ago, that'd come back for something like this.
And when it gets updated/reset, I'm almost positive that a lot of the current users will give it a try to show the new users (even more) they'd have a chance at actually ranking, because the numbers aren't so abnormally high that they have no hope (or idea) that they could even rank.
And when you're frequently updating things like *cough* the news page *cough* it really shows newcomers that they haven't stumbled upon some old site that hasn't been touched for years living off of the diehard users (like it has been, not anymore though :D).

Right, when I started playing, I had the goal to make it on the top 25 for money, and that's one of the reasons I stayed in the game for awhile, or atleast I didn't quit right away.

If you have nay accounts on the top 25, or even top 100 for that matter, they will now be there permanently. So... Whats the problem?

Really, lets think about it. You can have 8 people login to tl per week. Or you can reset and have 80 people possibly log on to TL a week.
If you put so much time in this game, put some more time into it. It would be no differnt then having a private and getting it to the current top 25. Plus you got a few new things to look foward too along the way.

i didn't cheat and i was still playing up until i noticed that it was going to be reset...
and what will you play it like once or twice and like give up again once you get to Admiral or something just because you realise it's still the same

There will be a new highscore kiddies. It won't be as hard to get on there, seeing as how EVERYONE is getting reset. Jesus, I'd think all you people would like this, seeing as how it's the only chance you ever have at getting on the high score boards.
