Good job Pellinor! 18 replies
I'm impressed man! over 160K exp in just a few short hours - you must have a wicked sore finger and blazing internet connection my friend... right...
A little bit of both actually ;)
I'm reaaly excited, I played back in the day, and the highest I ever got was 48th
I'm just so glad the game's up!

Yeah, I can imagine :) Over 3,000 kills of the hardest mob currently in the game would do that to you, especially with the limited amount of time you had to do it in. I'm sure you're glad to be playing again to hit the links with such... enthusiasm. A kill every 10 seconds for 8 hours without taking a break shows some serious commitment, especially when you factor in the time it takes to get to the point where you can easily KILL the toughest mob. So again... congratulations.
Woah..relax guys.
Maybe we should just scrape the prizes for the top three in the power rankings. It's a beta after all.

In some ways I agree and in others I disagree. Repetitive games such as this definitely provide people with easy opportunity to "bend" the rules. I don't know for a fact that anyone has, it's just that often a sudden rise to power brings an individual's actions into the spotlight. I like math and calculating how much work/time it would take for people to legitimately gain their power.
Still, those who are here to really enjoy the game as it was designed to play should not necessarily be punished for the indiscretions of those who cheat. I've watched most of the people high up on the list and, for most people, their exp seems legitimate. I suppose it all comes down to how powerful these custom prizes would be. If they change the balance significantly, what choice do players have BUT to cheat if someone has already started?

I'd be ok with it, if the prizes were scrapped. It would be a little disapointing, but I'm already in a great position for when more of the game gets put up, so it's not like I need an advantage.

...and any way, I'm sure having people at high levels will help with the beta. What if there's a bug that only shows up at level 30+? At this rate, I'm the only one likely to find it.
Nah not all of us can bot like you
friggin cheater

try playing for 8 hour straight, it will put you right up there with me.
Do you doubt for a moment that the game will be reset after the beta?
I don't really care one way or the other.
Soo you click for 8 hours stright......And then you dont care if that gets earsed?
Mostly I'm just really happy the game is up. I used to play years ago, and whenever it felt like I was getting anywhere, the whole game would get reset. It's not like I gain anything by being first, but I wanted to do it, just because I could. I enjoy the game, which is why i'm still playing, even though I have a huge lead on 1st place and TS hasn't opened up the new areas yet (though I'm still hoping he will).
I did open the graveyard, about 30 minutes before this post.
I got suspicious not when your exp constantly raised, but when it spiked by 160K, and subsequently grew slowly. I don't know that you've cheated or abused any rules, so I haven't said that you did. It's just fishy, that's all. I played WaR2 back in the day as well, with many many different characters. CrazyClown, Am_ooch and quite a few others - I was a Q&A, a Builder, and perpetual top 10 player. I'm glad WaR2 is back up as well, and I do enjoy clicking those links - but not enough to give myself carpal tunnel over a beta that'll be gone in a few hours... I'm going to have a good talk with TheSource about botting next time I see him online though.
When was the big jump?
It took me aproxamately five hours Wednesday morning for the first 18 (I think) levels, at which point I began fighting Drifters almost exclusively. That evening I saw how close I was to first place (I was at 5th) and spent 3 hours fighting Drifters without pause to get 1st place. Since then I've been playing an hour or two as I have time.
(The graveyard is finally open, and I have a houseguest so I can't take the time to play :( Oh well, maybe later)

Please bear in mind that I still haven't said I think you're cheating - I merely said that I was suspicious. As for seeing that you were in fifth and hopping to first - you had double the previous first place's exp (he had 80K, you had 160K). I'm sure you can agree that's quite a jump! It's very possible you did it legitimately - I can recall a time where I'd sit in front of a screen and mindlessly click through TL for days on end (to my knowledge, I was the first person to Emperor years ago, before there was anything higher). It's just that few people have that much patience (or that little to do) :) 95% of people who did what you did would have cheated to do it - if you're the 5% who did it fair and square, more power to you.

NN is the only site I know of whose community lashes out at everyone who tries to play one of it's games and sets himself apart from the rest.
