History tells us Lee could have won except for 2 things..population center and industrial centers were in the North, and Gettysburg needed to be a win, so that the North would need to pull back more troops from other areas and defend..Instead Lee retreated back to Virginia.

Boudica was defeated at the battle of Walting Street despite teh fact that she had a much larger army, the romans beat her by backing themselves aginst a forest preventing boudica''s forces from flanking them

They then arranged their men in a series of triangles simlar to this: ///// to allow a small number of men to be fighting at once and to alow those near the rear to quickly swap out with the fatigued men on the front.

Gaius Suetonius Paulinus Was the commander of the roman forces that used advanced tactics to defeat boudica.

Winston...the WATCHMAN, U failed at his in "1"

You speak of world wars I and II.
During wwI Churchill served as First Lord of the Admiralty for the Royal Navy. At the battle of Gallipoli in Turkey the Royal Navy turned back at their chance to tak the Dardanelles to support ANZAC ( Australian And New Zealand Army Corps ) at Gallipoli which lead to defeat and slaughter of ANZAC troops. Churchill took full responsibility and resigned his post.

During wwII Churchill oversaw many pivotal battles. First being in France in 1940 the British Expeditionary forces where trapped aling the coast of France by the Germans. Churchill organized all British ships along the English channel, even small private sailing ships and fishing ships and as a result he managed to save nearly all British forces from Dunkirk and return them safely to England to fight another day. Agqain during the Battle of Britain the Royal airforce under Churchill managed to be victorious against a much larger airforce. This made Germany cancel their invasion plans of England. This again allowed England to fight another day and allow England be a staging ground for U.S. forces after the U.S. entered the war.

The rivalry you speak of is mosy likely between British General Montgomery and U.S. General Patton. Thsi rivalry began in invasion of North Africa and again in invasion of Sicily where Patton's forces adavanced far ahead of Montgomery's. After Patton's forces broke out of Normandy following D-Day Patton stretched his supply lines to the limit. Montgomery was put the task of secuting ports in Belgium and the Netherlands. This would allow critical supplies such as gasoline be brought in closer to Pattons forces and continue their advance. Montgomery was unable to take the port of Antwerp which which halted Patton's advance and delayed the invasion of German soil. It was joked about at the time that the only General who could stop Patton was Montgomery! ;)

Ummm.... Apostle sounds older. I have no idea who Thomas the Apostle was, but if you say there's twelve, and there's a doubting one, it sounds awfully similar to the one play about the jury.

There was one member of the jury who didn't agree, and he somehow managed to prove to the rest of the jury that he was right, even when the numbers outweighed him. (I forgot what the play was actually called...)

Is that even close?
