This site is starting to sound like one of those shows I somehow end up getting a glance at at the early hours of the day / late hours of the night. With the exception of the Second Coming of Christ and all those related eschatalogical prophecies, all Biblical prophesy is now history. Since the Lord will come "like a thief in the night," I am certain that there will be no signs to warn of the Rapture of the church. It could happen millions of years from now, or it could happen before you finish reading this sentence.

Allow me to explain my charge of heresy. Turn to 1 Timothy 1:3.

As you may already know, 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus are specific instructions from the Apostle Paul as to how a church is supposed to be operated.

The very first command Paul gives is that the Pastor is to forbid the teaching of "other doctrine." The Greek word for "other doctrine" is ετεροδιδασκαλειν, which literally means, "doctrine of a different kind." It is only used twice in the whole New Testament.

The point is that we have an authoritative standard for Bible doctrine. It's known as Apostolic Doctrine. Sometimes it is called, "the faith," in Scripture. If a doctrine is explicitly or implicitly taught in Scripture, it is Apostolic Doctrine. If Jesus and the Apostles did not clearly teach a doctrine, it is "other doctrine," and therefore heresy.

When someone starts "date-setting" end time events as you have, you encounter at least these two obstacles.

1. Scripture does not clearly teach the set date.
2. Scripture specifically states, "no man knows the hour."

You must deal with both obstacles sufficiently if you are going to say that May 2008 gets the ball rolling. Otherwise, you are clearly teaching, "other doctrine."

I mentioned earlier that the word is only used twice. Can you find where it is used again in this passage?

1 Timothy 6:3-5
(3) If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
(4) He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
(5) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

I'll give you a hint. It's in verse 3.

Can you prove that other proposed interpretations of the same passage are wrong? Sorry to keep you waiting. I've been out of town this weekend with no internet access. I attended an event in Atlanta, Georgia, called Passion.

I think the issue we're having here WARBEAST is that you do not really understand the importance of the post I made earlier concerning "other doctrine." Because you are so consumed with whatever it is you have been listening to, you aren't really concerned with whether what you are saying is right. You are already convinced that you are right. Because you cannot and will not address my points, you have chosen to change the topic to a litmus test that you feel will validate your point.

Rather than allow your beliefs the test of truth, you have chosen to take up a mantra. The mantra appears to be something like this-

"If I can get him on at least one of these three questions, then I am right and he is wrong."

However, there is a serious error in this mantra. These 3 questions concerning the rapture, homosexuality, and the wheel Isaiah saw do not have anything to do with my charge of heresy. One of the great mysteries in the Bible is found in Chapter 17 of the Book of Revelation. This mystery revolves around a vision given to Apostle John concerning a last days Babylon. John describes this Babylon as a woman riding a scarlet beast that has seven heads and ten horns.
