I created the 50 land teching and it worked like a charm. I supported myself (Sure, I begged once or twice) and I had a good lead at the end of the round. I had so many rounds won too, but 7th kept massing me round after round and I ended up losing.
I never had a disbander and I always search for one at the end.
Then Loki and BC came back, expanded my strategy, and I was forced to adapt.
That accounted for something.

I don't think you can take any credit at all, you made it 50? I remember people low landing before I ever seen you on NN.
Ask them HOW they were lowlanding.
50 landing is to narrowing the income down to a perfect range and learning how to trust your techies. Back then, I don't freak out when I don't have a lowlanding techie. In fact, I actually looked for users.
And I had confirmation from Sal.
No one attempted to do that until Casey and my rounds in Nirvana, when we were both massed to exactly 50 lands.
Only in the rounds after that one, I never need to get massed in order to perform it. (50 turns, what a waste) I counted on my techies to give me the researches I need instead. I sold my food and oil at the lowest price and I get the income i need, though sometimes, I may need to beg for a million or research weapons.
Which is why no one complained if I had a 20 pt lead over them.
They know how hard it freaking was!
1 = Money over tech.
50 = Tech over money.

I,m whit Jing and I remember pretty well when they were pulling off the 50 landing Strat! At that time it was pretty impressive .

Jing definitely made the original low-land style. GuildaMage helped to improve it, and then BattleCruiser, Loki and I worked out another way to do it. The "support" system of low-land is a direct result of Jing's strategy.
