What does it do when you try?

Try going to that address above. If it works, check your LMHOst file in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and make sure there isn't an entry for netnexus in there anywhere.

Did you check other sites? You probably didn't configure your Wifi.

Can someone explain how netnexus.com manages to make its way into the hosts file, but no other site does?

Well about what...3-4 years ago netnexus was having hosting problems and some users couldn't access the site while others was. It was because of the hosting DNS problems. Only way to access was by IP. The host file is what your computer looks at first to access a website.

As a work around, some of the users had to manually edit the host file and put in a record for netnexus with its correct IP address and thats what his problem was =)
