of WoW. I haven't played in a while. Any suggestion on what to make? I think I'll just join a PvP server and make a rogue so I can gank people.

Firetree has a decent economy, and is known for their horde AV rushes. PvP ftw.

Playing a Rogue on altar.

Also my PC is too poor to run AoC.

Ok, vanishing again.

WoW is a waste of money and time. Get AoC or something, at least it's not WoW.

We do not have any plans to take WoW to Xbox 360,” Blizzard COO Paul Sams told MCV. “WoW is built as a PC gaming experience. Porting PC games to console often compromises games, and we’d never allow the WoW gameplay experience to suffer.

“Also, it’s important to us that the entire player base is able to play together. Microsoft’s Xbox Live architecture is very protected from all sorts of outside influence, so shared play between 360 and PC owners would be very tough. We wouldn’t even consider WoW for 360 unless we could overcome that hurdle.”

Chemosh, I think Rick was talking about AoC on the 360. Also go ahead and hate WoW. Very fun game in my opinion.

And yes COOLCHRIS, that'd probably explain why he couldn't get into it. :\ Usually you don't want to keep playing something if you don't get into it...... Or maybe I'm just weird.

Well that's just being stupid. I can understand that you may prefer to play console games as they are guaranteed to run and you may not have the best computer but computer games are obviously superior. You have a larger resolution, you can mod things, it is much easier to access the internet while playing multilayer games, and a lot more reasons I don't really want to get into.

[Added at 06/07/2008 14:43:36 by TC2]
Also computer games will always look better.

And for almost every game genre a mouse and keyboard are easier to use. Especially FPS. All the kids at my school who play Halo 3 actually argue with me that a controller is better at aiming.

There's no way a controller could EVER compare to a mouse.

I don't know about computer games always looking better. There's some damn good looking consoles out there. But I agree with most of the rest.

Only a console fanboy will argue that controls are better than keyboard for FPS games.

Computer games will always be more complex and customizable than console games. Everything else is a matter of opinion. Better graphics? It depends. PS3 and 360 can output in 1080p, and most games will run at full speed. Most computer games can run at close to or above this resolution and sometimes with higher quality, but can't guarantee 60 fps all the time, since they're programmed for so many different configurations, plus the fact that computers are not designed for gaming.

This graphics advantage goes away in a few years, though. PS2 games looked better than most/all PC games when the PS2 came out. Now it looks way worse. A console can't be upgraded, and games made for them are restricted by the hardware, even when the technology for higher quality models and textures requires better hardware. The PS2 lags on new games. The Xbox lags on new games. Look at Crysis. It looks great, because the developers know they're not going to produce a flop if they release for PC. In a year, every new computer will be able to run Crysis great. If, on the other hand, you release a game with ahead of the curve graphics for a console, you're f***ed. There's no upgrade coming for the console, so you've produced something that can't run. When the Xbox 1080 (I called it) is released, that ahead of the curve game won't be compatible, even though the Xbox 1080 has the hardware to run it.

(Sorry, those 2 paragraphs are pretty random in terms of coherency. mb)

PC games have a greater sense of community, imo. "But consoles are made for playing with friends!" Yes, they are. Consoles are great for that. They're fun to play for that reason. However, what if you are 10x better than your friends and want more competition? Admit it: PC games have infinitely better online support. Pretty much every competitive league is based around PC games. If you actually want to compete with a game, you're out of luck if you only have a console. The best players play on the PC. It's never really been picked up with consoles, probably due to a) poor controls and b) only recently did consoles get Internet support. Plus the average console owner has extra chromosomes, so you're dealing with a ton of retards. The Internet may not be free of them, but at least I know the average PC gamer is intelligent, whether they act it or not.

Consoles controls are garbage. Period. I mostly play FPS games, so that's where I'll focus. I'll admit console controls are good for sports games, and that's what I mostly play on consoles. Anyway, console controls suck. Aiming with an analog stick is just so painful after using a mouse. There's nothing natural feeling to it at all. It's a huge handicap for skill, because it's got such a high response time and absolutely no fine control. It's like trying to draw using a crane. I guarantee you I could beat the best console player if he used a console and I used a mouse. I'm good, but not the best. He's the best, and I'd still own him if I had a mouse. If you play Halo or UT or any of those on the console and think you're good, you're in for a huge shock.

Pros for consoles:
- At release, have superior graphics compared to PC games.
- Run 95% of games at full speed, all the time.
- Great fun when played with friends.
- Quick, easy setup.
- Great for sports games.

Cons:
- Hardware is several years old when a new console comes out. Shows its age.
- Games are more expensive and often have less content.
- Games dumbed down for consoles.
- No upgradability.
- Game lags? Too bad, there's nothing you can do to tweak it.
- No competition. No major Internet scenes outside of modding.
- Once your console is replaced by a new generation, you're basically SOL for games.

Talking about consoles made me remember I own an Xbox. Too bad it won't look any good on my HDTV, since it puts out a lousy 480p. Literally the only CRT in the house is a 13" set.:/ Boo.

I meant that before the next generation of consoles come out the PC will probably have better graphics.

This is pretty interesting.

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6178185/p-2.html

Bioshock PC vs Xbox 360 graphics. On low and medium settings the xbox looks obviously better and on high they look pretty much the same. One could be superior but I can't really tell which one looks "better".

"There's no way a controller could EVER compare to a mouse." - Tina

That was literally the exact sentence my mind initially produced as a response to Terran's post.

"PC games have a greater sense of community" Yep.

"If you actually want to compete with a game, you're out of luck if you only have a console. The best players play on the PC"

Ahem, to be more clear, they play on Pipeline in AA. There names are =CEF=. :)

"Anyway, console controls suck. Aiming with an analog stick is just so painful after using a mouse. There's nothing natural feeling to it at all. It's a huge handicap for skill, because it's got such a high response time and absolutely no fine control. It's like trying to draw using a crane." LoL

Controllers suck so bad... It's not even comparable to a mouse when it comes to FPS especially... I agree, sports games are the only good thing for consoles... Hockey being my fave...

What FPS games do you play Dondon?

I own:
BF2
TF2
COD4
CS:S

I play COD4 (rarely, and I hate the camping so much) and CS:S. I play other games too (including one I spend 95% of my FPS time playing), but I don't want stalkers.=) Besides, no one will have heard of it, so no harm done.

I'm down for a game in any of those.

Only FPS I play is AA. If you play all those chances are you might not like AA, especially if you're a CS player... That's kind of the opposite of AA. IE: Unrealistic, fast etc. It has knives and hand combat, AA does not...

I've heard of quite a few FPS's, and unknown ones.. you might be surprised.
