Xiaodaoye has been forced to quit playing due to many of you treating him like he was a piece of trash. People who loved and cared for him have forced him to quit playing, although he did not wish too. He will be unable to come and do turns or check mail or even access this site, because his mother stopped him from doing it.


Lets look at somethings that happened up to when he left. Alot of people treated him like trash and really hurt his psyche, that is the most despicable act ever, I expected something more from you guys! Some people called him a liar, some people called him a n00b, some people just treated him like crap all around. He wanted to play and become a part of our community but you guys shunned him!

Sure he could have a thicker skin, but he cant, he is not able too. Not everyone is like you guys! people are different! just becuase someone doesnt act or talk or think the way you do, doesnt mean he is less than you! Now I hope to hell you guys learn from this, because im starting to think massing the idiots who treat people like crap was not a bad idea, oh and lets grow up for christs sake!

I'm really disappointed in a lot of you. A few of you involved in this I've known for several years and I never expected you guys to behave like wild savages. There's a huge difference between harmless hazing and completely crushing someone's feelings with uncalled for verbal abuse. You should really be ashamed of yourselves for hurting such a great guy so much.

This is the only time I've ever been this pissed about something that's happened on this site. I really hope you guys get whats coming to you because this is just flat out dispicable.

It's annoying that we lost another potential long term player because of this. (And it seems we have lost a lot of new players the same way.)

I've also noticed that most of the insults(I mean real insults) he got are just players who wants to look cool by demoralizing another player or members who hardly ever plays. Or trolls like Mindbuster, who plays just for the sake of replacing your clan page with gay porn.

From the looks of the direction that this site is heading, once all the oldbies leave this site, you 10 players would be playing all by yourselves and the players who only come to this site for the sake of trolling would be patting themselves on the back for another job well done.

Xiaodaoye even told you guys of his mental disabilities and you guys still acted like dicks who couldn't get off their high horse.

I know the internet is not a kind place, but that doesn't automatically means that you guys have to to shamelessly destroy a kid's pride just because you can type better than him.

How is it that one person can dictate the actions of others as a majority? 'Bad' attention doesn't just happen. It's usually accompanied with said person being one of the aforementioned qualities (Retard, liar, stupid, etc). The large majority of you people were new to me when you first joined. I didn't change my personality to adapt to any of you. You've been treated as you represent yourself at any given time.

It's hardly a bother for one person to quit. Chances are, he would have quit for other reasons if not this anyway. The community at this point has very little effect on anything. What, you're going to make a handful of people quit? That might seem like a lot since there's only 2 handfuls of people active here, but that's hardly gonna game break anything in the grand scheme of things.

i agree every time i've played someone has always been a jerk to somebody who doesnt deserve it and ppl come to this game to get away from that in normal life. some ppl in this community ask for that kind of attention but ialso hoping that a lot of ppl learn frothis before we lose more people!

But having said that, unless i misinterperted it, your arguement holds no weight. Just because we are established in our ways of bullying new players, does not mean it is right. Just because we had to go through it, does not mean it is right. If we bully someone in school we get suspended maybe even expelled depending on how sever it is, but what happens on NN, nothing. If we harrass someone at works what happens? we get written or fired if we dont learn better. What happens if we bully or harrass someone in real life? We get a restraining order or fined/jailed.

Now once again what happens at NN??? Nothing! and it is getting annoying. Sure you can debate about how many people we lose due to bullying and how it isnt really that much, but for crying out loud trying to defend something that is wrong, shouldnt be morally acceptable and unless i misinterperted what you said you are defending NN's right to bully people and I cant accept that.

I never met the kid, so I can't feel sorry for him, but I can say that anyone, and I mean ANYONE, that get's offended over the internet doesn't belong on it. Period. Claustrophobics don't normally walk into enclosed or narrow places. He should stay off the internet (or public forums at least) if he is so easily offended.

1. netnexus is a family friendly site. Because of this we ask that users keep their messages within the realm of family friendly.

I think Shadowlord69 deserves some recognition for his initiative in trying to turn this site around and make it more family friendly. It is the lest we as a community can do to be friendly to newcomers, it is saddening to think that we can't even be nice to someone because they have never came to this site before, or because they don't know how to play a game, especially someone as friend as xiao. I personally applaud Shadowlord69's attempts to make this site truly family friendly. I believe that this could be the first step in expanding this site and bringing it back to life. I am ashamed to call myself a part of a community that would not accept someone because of a disability and I can only hope that this will change.

On its way to nonexistence, are you freaking kidding me, take a look around, just as many people now as there were 2 years ago, This site isn't going to die simply because Tom wont let it. Its because of attitudes like yours, and people being inconsiderate and rude to new players that this site doesn't have more people. If some of us would simply learn to accept new players this site would have more people and more money to expand and get new games, features, ect.

P.S. I personally believe there should be harsher punishment for those who continually bash new players, especially in cases such as this. I believe mods should be more active in finding those responsible and punishing them. It would go along way to improve this site if there were stricter punishment for harassment and bashing of new players.

Player attitude has absolutely nothing to do with why this site is and has been dead for years. If you really think so, you honestly need to re-evaluate your ability to see things.

3 things.

1. Wtf is all this sudden attention for a new player getting mocked all of a sudden? He isn't the first. Obviously those pissing him off need sanction, but all these threads are far from required.

2. Site is not active because the site needs advertising and updates on a more regular basis.

3. I'm really not satisfied with the new mods. Wether its in chat or forums, people hardly get any sanction. I also seem to be the only person greeting new players and pointing them the right direction to have a good play start. Some mods are barely even active.

In my Opinion and only in my opinion, These threads are needed. We need to bring this situation to the foreront, Instead of allowing it to fall unto the backburner again.

Now Sal I know you were a mod once, How did that go for you mate? You remember how bad the job was, how little appreciation you recieved and how much flaming you had to endure. I thoroughly believe that if we can reverse the precedent of allowing new player's to be harrassed with relativitly no backlash, we will be able to open this site up and make it worthy of advertising and maybe even give the mods a job they would love to do. Moderating a site they care about, for essentially free is a crappy job is it not? so lets help our mod's spend a couple months cracking down on the flamers until we get NN to a point where we are not a despicable bunch of bullies.

Now unless my definition of mod is different from your's, Mod's are supposed to "Moderate" the site, Not be obliged to teach every New player that comes along. That job should be left to clan leader's and clan members, That is one purpose of a clan is it not? Now your training new players has always been applauded, why else would your dispensation's on how to play NN be posted in our main gaming arena? So you have been credited and your name will always float around NN, so if you have to help a couple new players one on one, what is the big deal? it furthering you status more. Heck since your pretty much retired, find a bunch with potential and call them your protege's, is that not a noble thought, Sal's very own People.

Also as a few of you know, I have long been an advocate of a player training room, where new players can go to interact with normal old School players to learn about the game. Having a chat room were old school players could lounge in and whenever a new player needed help he just joined the room, because no offense to the mods, you guys are not always around. So having a dedicated group of players willing to teach new guys, I think would help reduce bullying, due to the fact it would reduce the amount of time one person would be considered a "n00b". "Coming from the 0ldest n00b in NN it is laughable, but still my point stands"

Honestly some people will have to be banned, but that is such as life, it happens with every game on the internet. But hopefully with a couple reforms we can equip our players with a sense of duty to our new players, to train them and teach them and help show them the ropes, because if we all feel a sense of commitment to our players we wouldnt bully them.

I completely agree that SOME of the mods simply aren't up to snuff, and seem to only have interest in being mod to get the VIP. I think the mod staff needs a good revamping, but that is a separate issue. Point being that the Way xiao was treated is disgraceful. And its not so much that it was this particular new player, as much as it was teh straw that broke the camel's back. Xiao is a great kid willing to learn the game and was polite to everyone. perhaps some of the "Oldbies" should take a lesson from the "nub".

First if you hate this site so much, why not just leave?
